Stan Boutin, Board Director

Dr. Stan Boutin is currently Alberta Biodiversity Conservation Chair at the University of Alberta where he has been a professor since 1986. He has also been science co-director of the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute since its inception in 2007. Stan has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and has served on the editorial boards of five different journals. He was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2006.

Cassie Doyle, Board Director

Cassie Doyle is CEO of the Canadian International Resources and Development Institute (CIRDI), a centre of expertise working with developing countries to improve how they develop, manage, and benefit from their natural resources. Before joining CIRDI, Ms. Doyle had a distinguished public service career with a focus over the last 20 years on innovation, the environment, and natural resource development. She has served at the executive level of all three levels of government, including as deputy minister with the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia. She has a deep understanding of governance and has worked collaboratively with industry, First Nations, academia, and environmental stakeholders. From 2011 to 2015, Ms. Doyle represented Canada as consul general in San Francisco. She served as Canada’s deputy minister of natural resources from 2006 to 2010 and was associate deputy minister of Environment Canada from 2003 to 2006.

Monica Norminton, Board Director

Monica Norminton is the chief financial officer and general counsel for a private family trust, where she is the legal and financial advisor and manager. She is also currently a board member for Alberta Millwrights Local 1460 Pension Trust and Health & Welfare Trust, Waste ReSolutions, and the Audit Committee for the Department of Natural Resources Canada.

Jack Royal, Board Director

Jack Royal is the founding president and general manager of Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, an institution for cultural education and historical preservation that has also become a tourism destination over its eleven years. Mr. Royal also operates a successful cow/calf, farming, and ranching operation supported by over 20 years in the agriculture industry. He is currently the chairperson of the Indian Business Corporation.
