Revised Edition of Directive 007: Volumetric and Infrastructure Requirements

Sep 20, 2011

The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) has released revised editions of Directive 007: Volumetric and Infrastructure Requirements and the On-Line Supplement to Directive 007, which replace the editions released on December 20, 2007.

The purpose of the revised editions of Directive 007 and the On-Line Supplement to Directive 007 is to consolidate requirements and processes currently found in ERCB tips posted on the Petroleum Registry of Alberta (Registry), reducing multiple supporting documentation.

Directive 007 contains the regulatory requirements for the electronic submission of all well, facility, and pipeline monthly information and well status changes to the ERCB through the Registry. The On-Line Supplement to Directive 007 helps provide guidance to industry on submitting data to the ERCB using the Registry.

The new edition of Directive 007 includes

  • the corporate amalgamation reporting requirement.

The new edition of the On-Line Supplement to Directive 007 includes

  • the corporate amalgamation reporting process,
  • additional facility subtypes and definitions,
  • additional well statuses and definitions,
  • updated commingling to align with Directive 065: Resources Applications for Oil and Gas Reservoirs,
  • addition of the Compliance Assurance section,
  • implementation of oilfield waste management facility (i.e., waste plants) volumetric reporting into the Registry, and
  • implementation of S-23: Monthly Oil Sands Processing Plant Statement into the Registry.

The following have been updated to reflect current policy and processes:

  • code tables and definitions,
  • references to other ERCB directives, and
  • Registry screens as required.

Directive 007 and On-Line Supplement are available on the ERCB website, www.ercb.ca, under Industry Zone : Rules, Regulations, and Requirements : Directives. Printed copies of the directive may be purchased from ERCB Information Services, 10th Floor, 250 – 5 Street SW, Calgary, Alberta; telephone: 403-297-8311; fax: 403-297-7040; e-mail: infoservices@ercb.ca.
