Reconsideration of Decision to Re-issue Reclamation Certificate

The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will hold a written prehearing for reconsideration 1916224. The first written submissions for the prehearing are due on June 15, 2020, and the parties will have until June 29, 2020, the date the written prehearing closes, to provide any further submissions in response.

What is the purpose of the prehearing meeting?
The purpose is to obtain the parties’ views on the issues to be addressed at the hearing and to establish hearing processes. More detail is provided in the hearing panel’s January 14, 2020, letter to the parties. Evidence and argument related to the merits of the reconsideration will not be considered in the written prehearing process.

Description of the Proceeding
On October 16, 2019, the AER decided to conduct a hearing to reconsider the AER’s decision to re-issue reclamation certificate 00340419-00-00 for a well site and access road at Legal Subdivision 1, Section 1, Township 37, Range 5, West of the 5th Meridian. The purpose of the hearing is to determine whether the AER should confirm, vary, suspend, or revoke its decision to re-issue the reclamation certificate

Yes. Section 49 of the Alberta Energy Regulator Rules of Practice (Rules of Practice) requires that all documents and information filed for a proceeding be placed on the public record. You must not include any personal information that you do not want to appear on or are not authorized to put on the public record. You should assume that anything you submit will be available online to the public. Section 49(2) of the Rules of Practice states how to apply to the AER for an order to keep information confidential.
