Today we released a new edition of Directive 065: Resources Applications for Oil and Gas Reservoirs.
We have included references to the Geothermal Resource Development Rules and the disposal of geothermal heat-depleted fluids. This introduces new requirements in sections 4.1.1 and 4.1.3. Additionally, frequency of injected solvent and chase gas fluid sampling and analysis for miscible flood schemes has been changed from monthly to quarterly.
Other administrative changes were also made, including removing redundant and outdated content. Some forms found in the appendices of the directive have been removed from the directive itself and can be found on the AER Forms page of the website. Changes have also been made to the Enhanced Recovery Scheme form to reflect recent changes to the directive regarding carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS).
The revised edition of Directive 065 is available on our website at www.aer.ca > Regulating Development > Rules and Directives > Directives. If you have any questions, contact our Customer Contact Centre by phone at 1-855-297-8311 or by email at inquiries@aer.ca.
