In the spirit of reconciliation, the AER acknowledges that our head office is located in Treaty 7, the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy: the Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika First Nations, the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nations: the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney First Nations and all Métis and Inuit peoples.
We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional name of this place is “Mohkinstsis,” which we now call the City of Calgary.
We also have field centres located on the traditional territories of Treaty 6 and Treaty 8.
