Purpose of this Directive
This directive provides updated requirements for estimated liability, including how liability is estimated, how it is used, and how the information will be made available to licensees and the public. It also incorporates other requirements related to estimated liability that were previously contained in other directives, including when a site-specific liability assessment is required, the Conditional Adjustment of Reclamation Liability Program, and the orphan fund levy.
This directive is expected to be updated on a regular basis using reported industry closure spend, where available.
